Pro14 has confirmed that the round 8 clash between Scarlets and Leinster has been postponed due to Covid-19.
A statement released confirmed that the Scarlets squad had returned a ‘small number of positive cases’ in the latest round of testing ahead of the game.
Scarlets last faced Ulster in the previous round and as a result the Irish side have also underwent coronavirus testing with the result expected in the next 24 hours.
Leinster are at the top of Conference A with seven consecutive wins in the tournament while Scarlets are second in Conference B with three wins from seven matches.
“The game was due to take place on Sunday, November 29 in Llanelli, however, a small number of Scarlets players have returned positive cases of Covid-19 and others identified as close contacts are now isolating,” read a Pro14 statement.
“Having considered all of the available evidence, the Pro14 Rugby Medical Advisory Group has deemed that this fixture cannot go ahead as scheduled.
“Ulster Rugby, who played against Scarlets on Sunday, carried out routine squad testing today and will receive their results in the next 24 hours.
“Pro14 Rugby will examine potential dates in early 2021 to reschedule the game.”
