Ireland head coach Andy Farrell has included uncapped hooker Diarmuid Barron in the squad ahead of the Rugby World Cup warm-up game against Samoa to be played in Stade Jean Dauger on 26th August.
The decision follows after the team is sweating on the fitness of Dan Sheehan, who sustained a foot injury during the warm-up win over England last weekend.
Apart from Sheenan, David Kilcoyne (hamstring) and Jack Conan (foot) also remained in Dublin as they continue their recovery from respective injuries.
Having defeated Italy and England, Ireland will have a fixture against Samoa in the upcoming weekend before they kick-start their Rugby World Cup campaign with a clash against Romania in Matmut Atlantique on 9th September.
Farrell is set to announce the 33-man World Cup squad on Monday.
