Gloucester Rugby have confirmed that England international Danny Cipriani will make an exit from the Gallagher Premiership club with immediate effect.

Cipriani joined the Cherry and Whites in 2018 and has made 44 appearances for the club scoring 128 points in it. Prior to his association with Gloucester, the 33-year-old had two separate stints with Wasps while also representing Sale Sharks between 2012 and 2016.

Overall, he has made 216 Premiership appearances for the three clubs combined and had represented England in 16 Tests.

“After much deliberation I have decided to leave Gloucester with the love, support and blessing of my coach and friend George Skivington,” he told the official website of the club.

“Whilst I’m sad to be leaving such a great club I know the club is in safe hands for the future under George’s leadership.”

Gloucester head coach George Skivington wished Cipriani good luck on his future endeavours.

“Danny has been playing at the top of his game for over a decade now, his reputation in the game is undisputed. It has been a pleasure to have been a part of Danny’s career at Gloucester and I wish him well for his next challenge.”

Meanwhile, the club has also confirmed that Scotland international Adam Hastings will join them ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Hastings started his professional rugby debut with Bath Rugby in 2014 and switched to Glasgow Warriors in 2017 scoring over 300 points for the Scottish regional club. He had also represented Scotland at the international level in 12 Tests including a solitary appearance in the World Cup last year in Japan.

“I’m really looking forward to linking up with Gloucester next season. The vision that George & Alex [Brown] presented to me was an opportunity too good to turn down, and I’m eager to play my part in a bright future for the Club,” he said.

“There’s still plenty more rugby ahead of me this season, but when the time comes, I look forward to pulling on the Cherry & White.”
