Late surge from Ospreys saw them score 13 points in the final 10 minutes as they defeated Worcester Warriors 29-38 in the second round of the European Challenge Cup at Sixways.

A double penalty kick from Stephen Myler got Ospreys to a six-point lead in the opening 12 minutes but the home side fought back with back to back tries from Ollie Lawrence and Melani Nanai Vai in the 16th and 27th minutes respectively. Jamie Shillcock kicked the conversion on the first occasion as they 12-6 lead.

Worcester allowed Ospreys to comeback into the game as they lost Richard Palframan to sin-bin in the 34th minute that also resulted in a penalty try for the Welsh regional side and Sam Parry also followed the suit in the 39th minute as the opening half ended with a 12-18 lead for the visitors.

Worcester dominated the start of the second half with 17 unanswered points with tries from Billy Searle and Ted Hill while Shillock kicked two conversions and a penalty making the scoreline 29-18.

Ospreys had a lifeline as Worcester lost Ethan Waller to yellow card and Morgan Morris crossed the whitewash to reduce the gap down to four points before North dived over the line in the 74th minute followed by Myler’s conversion and double penalty sealed a nine-point win for the Welsh regional side.
